A rare and attractive example of a WW2 period German Artillery Regiment Bier Stein, complete with original pewter cover, from a private collection. These were generally given to veterans as a memento on completion of their regimental service. The stein depicts a field artillery battery in sepia, with details of the regiment and the name of the recipient hand painted after firing. The lid has an infantry helmet in relief with trophies of arms around the edge and with German eagle thumb grip. The body with fine cracks not detracting from detail and decorative finish. 0.5litre capacity. Overall height 16.5cms
